Hello and welcome to ‘Fantasmagoria’, St. Hilda’s Ball in 2012! We know what you may be expecting: black tie, giant tent, disco, with a bit of a theme… so prepare for the unexpected. Prepare for a night of surreal décor and fast-paced vibrancy. Prepare for Fantasmagoria.
Fantasmagoria is the fantastic, the disquietening, and the surreal; from Disney to Dali, it is what you will see and what you thought you saw.
On the 5th May 2012, immerse yourself in an interpretation of Surrealism like no other. You will see yourself in new shapes, taste fantastic foods and drinks that melt in your mouth and in your head. You will dance through a crazy landscape of mirrors and melting clocks, to a kaleidoscopic myriad of music. Time will go backwards while you wish that time stood still.
Dress code will be ‘Black Tie with a Splash of Surrealism’. Interpret this as you will, be that a Dali moustache, bowler hats, or anything that springs to mind. The Ball will take place within St. Hilda’s College grounds, and there will be the option to purchase either a dining ticket or a non-dining ticket. Whatever your preference, we can GUARANTEE that we are the best value ball in Oxford.
Plus, this year we are a charity Ball: all our profits and more will go to Helen & Douglas House and WaterAid.
